Humboldt Bay is experiencing the fastest rate of SLR on the U.S. West Coast and is expected to rise 3 feet by 2060.
State, regional, and local agencies are working together to evaluate and address current infrastructure issues caused by SLR, as well as plan for long-term solutions.

Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plan for Humboldt Bay/Eureka Slough Area
Grant provided to support the preparation of a SLR adaptation plan for the Eureka Slough area of Humboldt Bay, which is especially vulnerable to flooding hazards. Phase 1 is completed.

Humboldt State University Sea Level Rise Initiative
Subcommittee of the Humboldt Marine & Coastal Science institute at Humboldt State University (HSU) that was formed as a partnership between HSU and the community. Membership includes academics, tribes, government agencies, NGOs, the private sector, and civic and community groups.
