This document provides a set of principles that will guide the California Coastal Commission on future permitting and planning actions related to nature-based adaptation strategies. It also discusses various permitting pathways for nature-based adaptation strategies, how these projects may be analyzed in the context of the Coastal Act, and other key considerations and topics that should be addressed when designing and implementing such projects.
